Zinfizzlex's Portable Shredder Unit is the item you get in Alterac Valley from one quest and that summons the shredder to fight for you inside AV.
I've noticed the properties of the item have been changed in patch 1.17.2.
In the past it used to last 3 days online on your character. Now it lasts only 3 or 4 (I'm not sure) real days. That's the biggest issue with this item because the materials required for it cost about 15g at AH and last that shortly. Also, the quest to get it is not that easy to complete because you must kill the Korrak first, escort Zinfizzlex to your base safely which is the hardest part since enemy usually kills them. And if he is killed, the quest can't be completed in that match.
I haven't seen any of these changes in the changelog so I report this as unintended change. Zinfizzlex's Portable Shredder Unit currently lasts very shortly.
How to reproduce:
1. Obtain https://database.turtle-wow.org/?item=17384 or https://database.turtle-wow.org/?item=17410 via the quest. Usable only inside Alterac Valley.
2. Go offline for 3 days on your character, then realize that duration of this item is REAL time, not in-game time as before the patch.
How is it supposed to work:
Revert this item to 1.17.1 state when the item had in-game duration instead of real time duration.

As far as I know this item was indirectly nerfed when devs nerfed time-limited consumables that people used in raids. Those consumables were from yearly events and lasted online time. It seems all items that used to last online time now count in real time. That would explain harsh shredder nerf.

This was a global change to all limited duration items. It was to prevent people from stockpiling temporary holiday items with buffs and using them for the rest of the year.
