Pet not receiving dragonslayer buff (sometimes) #7557

Describe the Issue:<br />
Sometimes my pet will receive Dragonslayer buff, sometimes it wont. I've been trying to test things to see what the cause is (dismiss and re-call, only call after entering Stormwind, call just before buff drops, etc...) to no avail. I can't (yet) discern a pattern, or know whether my pet will receive the buff or not. All I can say is that it receives the buff less often than it fails to receive it.

How to reproduce:<br />
You need to have the pet active for a while (I think it's more likely to receive buff if you've recently ported to SW) in Stormwind - other than that, I'm not sure what the cause is so it's trial and error to replicate

How is it supposed to work:<br />
If pet is active and in Stormwind, it should receive Dragonslayer buff along with your character

I and Melfor haven't been able to replicate this in the past reports linked, with multiple attempts.
We'll need help from the community to figure out what exactly causes this problem, so that it can be replicated every time and our devs can far more easily find a fix. -

I will continue to test myself when I can and report back if I notice any pattern. I know other players in Hard Chores have had this issue too - I was recently in conversation with one or two who suggested things like stabling the pet then taking it out while in SW, or simply dismissing and then calling pet just before buff drops... I tried both, and thought the latter might have been the solution, but then on a subsequent attempt it failed.
Here's hoping for more feedback from people so we can start piecing things together. -

Thanks for investigating Meflor. I believe my pet has received the buff in the Valley of Heroes at some point, but I could be wrong... perhaps the issue is related to locations within Stormwind. I will confirm here either way if/when I get chance to test again.

Not sure what causes it, but it seems that putting your pet in a stable then taking it back out again fixes it. My pet wasn't getting buffs for a day or two. Tried the stable and now it works again.

It does rarely happen with my pet as well. I wasn't able to determine what the reason could possibly be.
